Hello!

I have started knitting jumpers for Winter. It is a pastime that is enjoyable and fun. Does anyone else love knitting?

  • I love to knit and have done so all over the world. But no jumpers now – it never gets cold enough!

  • I do! My mum was an avid knitter, so I always liked the products. I taught myself to knit, crochet, embroider even a bit of sewing. Last year, I found out my first grandchild was due and I went crazy with knitting! Pinks, blues, purple, white, lemon. I overdid it, I got sick of it, way too much! It’s been a few months now tho and I feel like knitting again!

    • I completely understand, it does become a passion and it is hard to stop. Your grandchild is very lucky to have a talented grandma! I love embroidery too, but it does require a lot more concentration, but the results are quite beautiful.

  • I really would love to learn to knit. My mother in law makes some gorgeous clothes for my husband and kids and has inspired me to learn!

    • Give it a go, knitting can be forgiving when you are first learning if you start on something small and then move onto more complex items as your skills develop. Best of luck and enjoy!

  • I have tried over the years and failed dismally. I will get all excited and go out and buy all the yarn needed and start – but I inevitably lose count of the rows or drop stitches and don’t know how to fix it. So many many unfinished knitting projects. I am afraid knitting is never going to be something I can do.

    • I’m exactly the same! Love the idea of knitting, even something as simple as a scarf, only to have it sit in the cupboard with only a few rows done. It’s not for me.

      • It does help to have a little notebook and pencil to jot down progress with knitting, including the sections. Keep trying, it is fun and you get to make wonderful knitted clothes.

  • We crochet more than knit. Such a great skill that I’m sure those around you appreciate. Hope your family enjoys learning with you too!

    • I love to crochet too, it looks so beautiful. I love any craft activity that keeps my hands busy and warm during the cooler months.

  • No, but I really appreciate hand knitted things! It’s a great skill.

    • Hand knitted jumpers are just so special too.
