Hello!

My daughter was very tall from the time she was born. She is our first and we are naturally proud parents. She has just started play group this year and really loves it but everyone is so surprised at her age because of her height. It reminded me of a trip to the park. It was a lovely day and there was a market on near the park so we thought it would be a nice outing. Little Miss was around 8 months and not yet walking. We had a look around the market and then showed her the swings. Wow did we get some disapproving looks from the other parents there. I couldn’t figure what we had done wrong! We sat down at a bench to get a bottle ready and another mum say near us. ‘Isn’t she sweet 0 how old is she?’. We happily announced that she had just turned 8 months and the look or utter surprise was my first hint. Yep, I think people thought we had taken our little girl to the park and not let her play!

  • It gets worse as people will expect her be to talking and doing other things like an older child would. Don’t let it get to you and enjoy every second.

  • That’s funny lol. People can really look too much into what’s going on in other people’s lives, but it’s funny all the same.

  • The real bugger with a tall baby is trying to find pants that are long enough for the legs, but aren’t too loose around the waist.

  • We have 2 children and we have ALWAYS had this. Being tall is a mixed blessing, but when they’re little I have found that people have been expecting much more from them for their age and are surprised when they open their mouths and hear a little person’s voice come out.
