Hello!

As most mothers do I had to get some stitches after I had my daughter as I tore my perineum giving birth. I was incredibly sore, swollen and uncomfortable for a long time but i was lucky enough to find a particular brand of pads much more comfortable than another brand I had been using. I originally bought U by kotex maternity pads to the hospital with me but i found those to be quite stiff and uncomfortable when i was wearing them but i put up with it anyway. It wasn’t until i got home and opened another packed of maternity pads that i realised i didn’t have to put up with it and i could feel a lot more comfortable. The brand is Stayfree and i really recommend them! I have found these much more comfortable. They feel a lot softer and they seem to fit a lot nicer than the kotex ones which can really make a difference. I find it much easier to sit and walk with the Stayfree pads. I also found using either vagisil or femfresh feminine wipes after I’ve been to the bathroom really helped so much too. It just makes me feel a little cleaner and fresher and takes the sting out of the stitches which makes a big difference! I didn’t try any other pads i just stuck to the ones that worked for me but i will be using them again next time i give birth.

  • Salt water helped me too and pads were such a comfort and helped with sitting.

  • I was also told to bathe the area in salt water. I found this soothed my stitches and am sure it sped the healing up
