Hi with everything on this site Im surprise that there isn’t a legal blog of some description. There are so many issues relating to breakups, and I just think that this site should have a segment just for that. Like some mums, I am going through some issues which I am finding hard to find out where I actually stand. Everything from Centrelink through to property settlement. With lawyers so expensive I would love it if there was something that could cut down on the expense. I realise there is some great advise in certain issues but think it would be helpful if there was a guide.

  • Hi luckymom, I’m not sure if you’re in Australia or not but I’m the founder of lawcorner.com.au which has lots of information on most issues affecting Aussie mums and we are only weeks away from launching our “Ask a Lawyer” section where you’ll be able to ask a question and get answers from lawyers for free!

  • i think that maybe there could be advice articles instead but i do agree that every case if different and you need someone who knows your circumstances to advise you well

  • i like reading these stories

  • Legal advice on issues depends upon individual circumstances and having ‘generic’ advice may possibly be confusing.

  • Not really sure about this idea.

  • I disagree, this isn’t the place for legal advice. I know solicitors are expensive however there are other alternatives for advice if you look around.

  • I expect there are some significant liability issues around offering legal advice. Maybe it’s “too hard”.

  • That would be a great idea… Definitely in your case but also even in more simple circumstances, especially so in any dealings with Centrelink… I consider myself to be a relatively intelligent, well educated person but when it came to claiming paid maternity leave I was rather daunted at the prospect…
A blog on here covering a range of issues would be a Godsend for all!
