Hello!

At the beginning of this year my 6 year old daughter was starting primary school ( Prep). At the beginning of the year you have to make an appointment in the first month for your child to be assessed by their teacher. As far as I know, they assess them on counting, alphabet, sounds of the alphabet, comprehension of a story and other things. I remember waiting outside for her to finish her assessment ( which took 30 minutes). She came running out and her teacher came out smiling. I thought oh no, what has she said. The teacher said she thought my daughter was very amusing. I had to ask why. She told me that she had asked my daughter to write a sentence about anything she liked. I knew she would not have been able to do that as she only knew a few words at the time. Anyway, she apparently sat busily writing for the teacher. Once finished the teacher had a look. She couldn’t really read any of the words my daughter had written down and so she asked my daughter to read it for her. My daughters response was ” How do you expect me to read that? It is all in Japanese!”.
