Hello!

Some 30 years ago my husband was found to have bowel cancer, and we were very lucky that even though he did not seem to have systems like most, the new doctor we consulted, having just moved from the east to here, was very thorough, and sent him immediately to hospital for tests. They came back to say cancer, so within a couple of days he was in hospital, touch and go, but made it through. Our doctor commented that it is an unseen frightening disease, and he was glad to have found it, otherwise my husband would not have lived very long after. We have managed to have twenty years, without problems, but I have just realised sitting here, that this last coule of years they have been finding cancers over his face, and body, and it takes time in todays hospital world to be able to book in and get them out and get stitches in, and then they have to heal, and then come out. I am wondering if anyone else has gone through this, and if it is something either that we are eating causing it, or perhaps something we are not eating that is the reason his skin is breaking down so much. Has anyone else gone through the same typ e of set up that can help and advise me, as the doctors just dont seem to know why it is happening… My husband is my world, and I too like many others dread the day I may have to cope alone.. Until you literally go through these type of problems, no one else knows how you feel…. .

  • Sadly, skin cancer damage is caused during younger years and shows up when older. I have had a number removed and it is scary and painful. Being aware and being checked constantly is the best thing to do.

  • My husband has a lot of skin cancers and also has to frequently have them removed. His medications have an effect on his skin too plus he worked outdoors for quite a while when younger. Take courage, you still have him with you.
