Ok my 12 year old has to wear glasses all the time. My 8 year old has just got glasses that he has to wear all the time. They both look really good in their glasses but that’s not the problem. The problem is my seven year old who has been diagnosed with ADHD wants glasses coz he thinks they look fantastic and he could get some green ones or the spider man ones he seen. We have the same ok at least twice a day with me saying but your eyes are fine u don’t need glasses only to get the response well then mum tell me what I need to do to break my eyes so I can wear them too

  • Oh dear that’s a bit scarey! My kids needed glasses, didn’t wear them as a kid, now have permanent eye damage

    • I was thinking something similar. When he does have to wear them, he will probably hide them, leave them at school OR leave them home when he should have them at school. An everlasting battle here. They have been left out in the school yard and ended up in the lost & found bin because the office and classroom are closed before the yard is cleaned. Don’t know how many times we’ve had to retrieve lunch boxes. It’s supposed to go in school bag before play time.

  • My daughter doesn’t need glasses either but wants them!

  • Could you get him a pair of glasses without a prescription lens.

  • At least he is not teasing the others about their glasses. The hardest part of being a parent is having to say no.

  • My LO wanted one too and we got a pair of non-prescriptive glasses, just like what OMGJAG31 said.

  • Maybe you could get him ones without real lenses
