The Headline says it all.. No interests. I have none.. I work and look after my family.

I run the Canteen and Bar at my hubbys cricket club – but thats his interest not mine and I only do that to keep busy whilst he is playing as it saves me having to watch lol…

My family keep telling me to take up a hobby and get out of the house. But I truely cant think of a thing I want to do….

I want something I enjoy, something that will make me smile and be something to look forward to, something that relaxes and recharges me. I have no idea where to start looking for something like that….

  • Take an interest in something you enjoy like a cooking class or a photography or language class.Something you can use in the future.

  • Sometimes you are not interested in anything and then you try something new and it excites you. So many options, you won’t know until you try a few I guess. I completed a few short courses in beauty , even though I only used 1 of my certificates from 1 course for a few years it really did make me proud of myself for my achievement and the fact that I did something for myself with 2 young children under school age.

  • may be learn a new skill – do a short course in art, jewellery making or what ever interests you but you have never got around to doing it. Reading is a good past time and that too can spark ideas.

  • if you have spare time then, try different things and see what you like or dislike and then work on from there.

  • I suggest you sit down with a pen and paper and list the things you enjoyed doing when you were younger; maybe there is something there? Also; look up places that offer free trials for interests and hobbies. Good to try before you commit any money to a new hobby. I have gone along and tried out new ideas at trial nights. Some I have loved and continued; other have not been for me. A bit of trial and error in finding what you like; but that is part of the fun! Good Luck! :)

  • What did you used to enjoy doing as a kid?

  • Sometimes it is best to just give things a go as the opportunity arises. I would suggest that you give everything that comes your way a go. Even if it is regularly catching up with a group of friends

  • Not sure which state you are in, in SA we have WEA they do short courses from languages to arts to cooking to sewing maybe start look there first for some ideas and doa short course then you might find your calling! or start your own blog etc! I love sewing and sew things and tarted my own FB company, but also work PT so dont have as much time as i would like, but gives me the time to myself!
