I was very, very low on fuel, which is my usual way of travelling these days (I blame the exorbitant fuel prices). I was going up a hill nearby, willing the car to get to the top, because I happen to know (don’t ask me how…), that if I get to the top of the hill and then run out of petrol I can coast all the way down the hill, and get within a block and a half of the petrol station. But I never made it to the top of the hill. There I was. Stuck! Half way up the hill, in the middle of all the lanes. I immediately put my hazard lights on, but then I sat there, with cars beeping at me from all directions. I was completely at a loss as to what to do. Then a ray of sunshine beamed down from the sky, onto a white 4 wheel drive, which had stopped in front of me. My saviour, jumped out, and said, “Do you need a tow?” I managed a weak smile and nod. He sprang into action and towed me all the way to the petrol station. I felt like kissing him!
