Does anyone have to deal with passive aggressive behaviour in the family . It is subconscious form of the inability to cope with anger. This morning I lectured hub to speak out instead of ignoring the issues and giving me his crappy silent treatment and snide remarks . He stormed out and come softening up , don’t expect apologies either . He can’t help himself and I am too direct of course. His younger brother ( BIL ) is very serious . In fact I cant even toalk to him as he looks even scary . He talks loud and gives his wife the glare and constant blaming . She has given up and couldn’t care less because it is her problem and daughter has become one . We found out he was the most rejected and neglected in the family and his father is one who ignores his wife , but she is a caregiver due to her culture . Does anyone have stories to share and how they handled it . Thank you for allowing me to vent .

  • A counsellor can often help in these situations. There are many good books that may also be of assistance.

    • Even seeing a counsellor individually may help, then as couple.

  • Perhaps a professional mediator or counsellor could help.

  • I believe passive-agressive behaviour is a form of abuse because he is not trying to improve anything and won’t listen. If you are scared you can call the police. You shouldn’t have to live like that.

  • he does need to talk and deal with things, with you. maybe counselling.

  • Your home life sounds pretty tough – try to find support in close friends and family when you need it. Good luck! At least he is not like your BIL.

    • yeah he is not his brother-in-law, you are correct. Hopefully seeing a counsellor will help to resolve some things.
