When the kids decided to get a pig for a pet i felt ohhhh no. Its a desexed two year old male. Just plain no colour etc. Everyone has been amazed too. His name is Sir Oinkalot and you can guess what he does is oinks alot. He also drools as soon as he sees food or smells it. He tries to eat his feed bags when they are empty too. Hes been brought up not eating meat so his companions are chooks ducks goats and he gets on well until the food comes out. Hes wrecked our shed, fences and comes in for food if we dont feed him at 5 pm every night on time. When people see the size of him all they think of as a pig on the spit. Its the kids pet.

  • I don’t think you would ever have had any worries of your pig killing and eating your fellow pets, whether he was raised eating meat or veggies. They’re not killers. Lol

  • Pigs are very intelligent creatures and make wonderful pets.. As long as you have enough room for them!

    • Yes we have enough room. The size of him does not help he uses his weight though

  • I had two pigs. And I have to say it was not one of the best decision I have ever made. They kept on breaking out of their enclosure. In the end they were costing us a fair bit to feed, As they were always getting out looking for feed. So if you are going to keep it as a pet. Get a ring put in its nose, As it will help you keep it in an enclosure as their snouts are rather strong. Mine use to use those to lift the fence enclosure to escape. It also helps if they are digging holes
