Hello!

My little boy is speech delayed and also in the process of undergoing further assessments. For the last 8 months we have been attending speech therapy and spending so much one on one time working with him to develop his speech and it has felt at times like a hard, long road with not a great deal of improvement. In the last 2 weeks however we have seen huge improvements ( although sometimes I’ve wondered if we just see improvement because we want to see it). He is in daycare one day a week when I am at work.

Yesterday I picked him up to just about be bowled over by one of his carers telling me what a wonderful day he had. She couldn’t believe how much he was jabbering away all day, making beautiful eye contact and really trying to communicate and was giving lots of hugs.

That was the moment I needed. That somone else could see the changes and improvements, and not just one of them but all of them were talking about how amazing the change is. I could not stop smiling and hugging my precious boy. It probably sounds like such a small thing but it’s been a struggle to get him to here. So proud right about now :)
