Does anyone else out there read food labels? To see where the product comes from and exactly what’s in it? I do! And I gave to say how horrified I am at the hidden sugar in so many of our day to day foods. And not small amounts of sugar either. I bought some toasted coconut chips the other day, thought they would be yum on my fruit salads. I didn’t read the label :/ I thought toasted coconut chips, they must be just that, toasted coconut. WRONG!!! There’s added sugar, lots of added sugar. Why??? I just want the toasted coconut without the added sugar :/ Disappointed!

  • I always read labels now! Or make my own things from scratch…then I know exactly what is in it

  • It is amazing how much food items have hidden sugars. I read the labels.

  • So many things contain sugar! I read an article about stopping sugar and they gave a list of all the ingredients that’s sugar under different names.
I look at labels mainly for food preservatives and additives.

  • I know! Hidden sugar and hidden salt, two things I try to avoid.

  • Since the frozen berries scare I’m always reading labels to see were the product comes from. I also prefer unprocessed foods as been a diabetic & having a wheat intolerance it is better to be safe than sorry.

  • Most of our food is purchased at the farmers market and we limit the purchase of food at supermarkets and avoid having to read lots of labels. :) I also use the freezer to freeze foods that are out of season. I purchase food that is Australian made and has very few ingredients on the label – always a good way to avoid unnecessary additives and preservatives.
