I never took any of my children to a mothers group, but I have a friend with a then 2 yr old daughter. She used to go to a playgroup once a week and would always come and tell me how horrible they were to her. She kept going for the sake of her daughter, but would be nearly in tears telling me about it. Most of them were around the 20 yr mark and she is around 30. She was glad to get her daughter into a kindy this year so she didn’t have to go there every week copping that from a bunch of mothers.
So don’t feel bad about it. My children have grown up fine and they never went to anything like that
