Hello!

This is something I always dreamed of, just like any other person. I wished and prayer for it, I wanted my own little place in this world. My own house. After marriage I started living in leased homes, We changed them often. About two in a year due to many reasons but mainly because we could as they were rental. I loved each and everyone of them, cleaned and took care of them. New or old they were per of my life and I was honest with them. Moving houses made me quite sad. But I always compromised because I had to. It was also hard because I have three little kids who can’t feed or clean themselves. Packing their countless clothes is always a big challenge too. But as we started thinking about moving this year, hubby surprised me. He said he saved enough money so be able to buy our own. I was shocked because he never have me a clue. But into heart I did had a hope. All that time when we didn’t bought a fancy bed or babies cot, or an expensive pram and cradle etc. I knew we might save enough one day. Yes we ate well but everything else was so simple. And I think it might still be but at least we will have our own little house in this big world. And there might not be lots of things in it, but there will be giggles and most of all …lots of Love

  • What a wonderful surprise for you. Obviously he paid the bills and you had enough money to pay for everything you had, even if they weren’t luxuries.
Probably not a lot of outings or holidays unless they were low budget ones.
Furniture has to be safe and practical – luxury can come later after other priorities. You will have a mortgage, rates & taxes you didn’t have previously so he has obviously been taking those expenses into consideration before you commit yourselves. In thus particular case, you didn’t know so you didn’t go on any spending sprees like many Mums do – you possibly compromised to what you all needed, not things you looked at and thought that’s nice and bought it on a whim.

  • Owning my own home has never been on my to do list, I always put it in the too hard basket. Marriage has never been a to do either. Funny how different people have different priorities

  • that is wonderful. i want to buy a house and i will have to go for the cheaper range but i will be so proud! it seems so far off though. Our budget leaves no room for secret squandering though lol. Congrats! i want to feel the way that you do right now. You have obviously sacrificed for it
