Building memories! That’s what my mum always told us when we went on long road trips.

I hope you stopped every couple of hours for the driver to get out of the car to get some fresh air, walk around for a couple of minutes to stop your muscles tightening and possibly cramping. The elderly and children often need more toilet stops. They can be incorporated in those stops. Try to stop where there are toilets and send the kids to the toilet. It may be awhile before you find more.

Long car trips are what you make of them. Ive done the Melb to Canb many times and with young kids – there are many great places to stop along the way. Make the most of gorgeous little towns along the way.

Let your dad be a sorce of entertainment for the kids, i am sure he would have so many stories to share about his life growing up. Encouage him to share that info with the kids. It will be a great chance for them to get to know him a little better… Have fun.

Hope you had a great trip! We love road trips and have done the Melbourne – Canberra drive a few times but only ever hubby and me. We have not been game enough to try a long road trip since the kids arrived.

Long road trips are whatever you turn them into. We have done multiple 10 hrs plus road trips with kids and grandparents. They are a lot of fun. We did Karratha to Perth recently with dog and kids and had a Fantastic time. Enjoy!!

NSW has more stops than VIC. Maccas will be your friend for toilet stops and snacks. enjoy

Love a good and long road trip. Plenty of food, drink and entertainment for all in the car is the key to a good trip.

Any long drive is a Total pain.
