Hello!

Thanks for your story Cairnsbliss. Wow – you have it tough with hubby away and 3 kids let alone any sleep problems. I have an almost 3 yr old and a just 4 year old. Neither have ever been good sleepers really but Miss 4 now suffers from nightmares. I used to as well as a kid and my mum reminds me of my nightly cries to daddy and being put into their bed most nights. I don’t recall these happening past about age 10 though!!! Or at least I just sucked it up, pulled the blanket up to my chin and eventually went back to sleep.

Luckily Miss almost 3 is a heavy sleeper now as they share a room but she is a terror to get to bed. Neither child has had day sleeps since just before age 2 and neither slept a lot as babies (which I worried about first time around and then forgot about second!

It would be very hard to manage 3 with your patterns on your own and your thoughts around house work etc seem like your doing a great job. It’s so eay to b concerned with things that at the end of the day your kids won’t remember a constant pile of washing on the ground when they were 3 but they will remember mum yelling at them.

You’re dong an awesome job – and to every other mum out there in a similar boat, chin up, one night they’ll all sleep though and you’ll worry and wake early to check that they’re ok (apparently this is only a mum thing, my husband thinks I’m nuts when I do this!!!) Our minds work in mysterious ways!!!

  • I can totally relate to all of the above. And it’s so true, it might seem impossible and endless at the moment, but it will stop. And you will be left wondering where your babies have gone

  • I so know what you mean about the kids sleeping through the night and you don’t!
