Hello!

A friends mum was throwing out a cane framed mirror and she asked me if I new of someone who could use one.

It was really very ordinary, but I took it and thought of a few friends – thinking an extra mirror is always handy to have and I could easily give it away.

When I got it home, I poured myself a glass of wine, sat down and and starred at it for ages. BINGO… then the idea of gluing a bag of seashells given to me ages onto the frame could bring it back to life.

I spent that weekend with a glue gun (stored in the laundry cupboard and not used for 10 years) and glued a whole bunch of shells onto the frame.

It’s a masterpiece and now I can’t part with it. It just goes to show that something that someone thinks is trash is not and turns out to be someone else’s treasure. The shell renovated mirror now hangs happily in our outdoor BBQ area :O)

  • That is talented . Do you have a pic ? We were throwing rubbish out for the council pickup one day and we had very old plates from the garage which we put out . Next minute , we had a visit from my mother in law and she said “what a waste don’t throw it out ” and she took it from the pile and used it for herself . So to her it was treasure !

  • Nice! My son often goes around at hard garbage time and picks up,a lot of stuff from piles of other people’s trash. It’s amazing what’s thrown out, most has nothing wrong with it, some just need a screw or minor adjustment. He does really well
