I will be tuning in tonight to the TV to watch the program on the ABC about supplements. It is an area of interest as I know people that do spend a lot of money on supplements. Will other mums be watching the program and do you believe in taking supplements?

  • I’ve previously been skeptical if they work or not… but when push came to shove and I needed a boost (Dr recommended) then I found my energy levels were so much better. Sounds like an interesting documentary.

  • Some diseases cause deficiency of some vitamins and other nutriments. Even with a modified diet suitable for your medical condition you may still have some deficiencies. Some medications such as those for Epilepsy deplete calcium and minerals from your bones including your teeth. As my Dr. said the medication and extra treatment for deficiences than risking my life.

  • It is a good discussion to have with a GP too.

  • I am very careful and research supplements.

  • Would love to have seen this. I’ve heard that nothing beats a whole food proper diet with all the nutrients you need from real veggie food. But having said that the same trusted vegetarian source (which happens to have all the science that proves nutrients isolated from real food do not work when “extracted” from the bigger picture) says you really need B12 supplements.. oh and throw in some Vitamin D as well….so I guess that sometimes supplementation is necessary.. But I think you have to be careful that they aren’t adding in harmful stuff just to help make the tablet or capsule last on the shelf….

  • I know I’m very careful about taking supplements. Sounds like a very informative and interesting show
