Hello!

I was a teenage mum at 19 years old. I know a lot of people would disagree with raising a child at my age, but it was the best thing my partner and i have ever done.

I am now 22 and we have just bought out first home and pregnant with second child on the way after 9 months of trying to conceive.

We are so proud of ourselves and what we have accomplished at our age.

So to all you young parents out there, be proud of yourself and never let anyone bring you down. Set your goals and you will achieve them :)

  • You seem to be one of a kind for teenage pregnancy. I have a niece who got herself oregnant at age 16 because she couldn’t think of anything else to do. She lives completely on Govt money, in Govt subsidised accommodation, Govt subsidised utilities with her unemployed partner. So sad for bub

  • Age is not a sign of maturity or ability to cope with life. You and your partner obviously have dealt well with what life has thrown at you, and you are planning for the future, rather than drifting along. Good on you for being so focused at such a young age, because there’s a lot of people who are double your age, who still just wander through life, with no purpose.

  • I am jealous! I started trying at 19, and finally succeeded at 34. I would have loved to have been a lot younger, but still glad I have her!

  • I agree – it is not age but determination and attitude which make the difference

  • I was 17 when I had my first child and married and had a second child at 19 and My oldest will be 30 this year ,and it was back it it was looked down upon.
We built and own our own home and own it as well as all our furniture and 3 cars.
Which are all the things people said we would never have would never happen.
Just as was said about my first born Daughter she would be a school drop out and pregnant before she was 16, well she finished year 12 with honors and got married at 22 and not pregnant and does not drink or smoke and has a few diplomas behind her. So you can always show people you can do a lot and your age has nothing to do with it as it is the type of person you are that makes it all come together
