The birthday cake is the most important part

Today is my birthday. My sons are two and almost four and the eldest is very into birthdays at the moment. So this morning he was very excited to say happy birthday and show me where my present was before opening it on my behalf. I am a very keen baker and bake at least one cake/biscuit/sweet treat every weekend. So twenty minutes after opening my presents he comes out to the kitchen and states the following “Mummy you need to bake yourself your birthday cake”. I work from home one day a week so when I told him I couldn’t because I was working he got very upset. “But you need a cake and you need to make it now”. It was hard watching him in tears – who knew that the cake is the important that makes it a true birthday.

Aww how adorable, he wants mum’s baked cake for your birthday :), love kids priorities lol, don’t you just love when they hand you a gift and ‘open’ it for you hehehe too sweet.
