Hello!

I am at wits end with my two girls 3 and 5. They are both intelligent girls in their own right, And can often lead each other depending on who excels at what, but the problem I am finding is they are fighting constantly. They no longer play together for more than 5 minutes without one crying that the other hit, pinched or just annoys me. I seperate them constantly and as soon as i put them back together it starts all over again. I know they love each other, but at times my 5 yr old tells her sister she only loves her brother. It breaks my heart and no amount of talking has helped any. I do hope this all changes soon as I want them to form a bond that will never be broken.

  • Even though they fight a lot, you would be amazed that if an outsider was to pick on either of them, the other one would be the first one there defend and protect them. Sibling rivalry is normal and it will usually pass as they get older….hang in there!

  • My sister and I were the same for many years, I don’t recall when it started, but it ended when my niece was born, many years later.. But one thing I knew, I always had her back and she always had mine. I do believe it’s a natural girl thing, why I will never know. But I think just encourage them to play together, you sound like you are doing an amazing job and doing the best you can. Give them time. When I found kids arguing, I couldn’t take too much I would just all of a sudden say, that’s it, I’m done. They usually run after you and then you can get their attention to clarify the situation. Hope it does work out, good luck.
