Hello!

My 12 month old is such a happy little girl. Every once in a while she sounds chesty. This doesn’t seem to bother her. I have spoken to pharmacists, doctors had her checked out so many times but they all come back with her lungs are clear. Am I just worrying for nothing? Do I get her checked out again? I have taken her to at least 2 different doctors.

  • It’s so frustrating when your bubs us unwell and they can’t shake it off. My third child who is 3 now always sounds chesty and we take him to docs (different ones aswell as our family gp) and they always say his chest is clear. I’ve learnt to trust my instincts and I relay more on Vicks and humidifier than medication.

  • If you are still concerned; get further medical opinions.

  • If the doctors have checked it that’s good but you don’t want to encourage asthma medication as it can create an asthmatic and as a chronic asthmatic myself you don’t want to do that. Use Vicks and get a humidifier with eucalyptus see if that helps

  • My son has had a cough for 8 weeks now they have done xrays, given him ventolin and pred mix steroids and it still hasnt budged they are now saying that its the weather and he may get hayfever.
Sometimes doctors dont have all the answers so if your not happy take your child to another doctor and another till your happy.

  • My child still has this every now and then I learnt not to stress about it just like us they can get a tickle in the throat or even just pollution in the air can be a bother. It would be very rare if two doctors miss diagnosed. Good luck
