Just wanting to know if you have solar have you notice a good difference in your power bill. We have got a 5kg which goes up to 6kw inverter and 24 250 watt panels and really not a huge difference in our bill yet. Don’t get me wrong my bills are cheaper but my repayments out way the savings by a mile. I just got my bill and with pensioner discount and my 5% discount it just says all credits $150 so I think this includes the solar.

  • I have heard mixed stories about solar and I have also heard it takes quite a bit of time to see the savings.

  • Wish we could afford the initial outlay for solar, as many people say that the systems pay for themselves within a couple of years. Also, with some of the bad publicity about some solar installation companies, it does make me worry about who to trust.

    • Unfortunately, we are in the same boat, can’t afford the outlay.

  • you need to do a lot of reserch regarding solar, as I found out only a limited amount can be placed on any one grid, and if all slots are taken, well, its a waste of money

    • Ensuring you do a lot of research into solar panels is such a good idea! There is a lot of information to absorb.

  • I think with solar it takes time before you see a great deal in difference especially now as we head into the winter so a lot less sun.

  • Solar energy especially in lamps is very useful in my country Cameroon, especially during lights out. We get alot of electrical power failure, and most families have perished as a result of lighting a candle and putting it on the bedside. My house got partially burnt as a result of this candle, but with the solar lamps, there is no risk of fire, and more families are resorting to this.

  • I am hoping to see a difference soon and yes I am paying it off after paying a $3000.00 cash deposit but would like to see a better improvement on the bill it’s self but thanks

  • We have solar and think it’s awesome. Our bills have halved so it’s been a big saving for us. If you borrowed money to have the solar panels installed and have repayments for that money then it may take a couple of years before you reap the benefits.
