Winter beach visit

I love visiting the beach during winter and autumn. No crowds, easy parking and you usually have the beach to yourself! We often visit during the holidays, building sand castles, playing beach cricket, kite flying and looking in the tidal pools. My two top tips are to check the weather and look for a day where there isn’t a lot of wind forecast and to finish the day with fish and chips for dinner (or lunch).

I would say that around September October the beaches are perfect. Not too hot and not too crowded, but great weather and a sence of the coming summer. We still head down on summer mornings though and have a wonderful time (if the weather is not too hot!)

We are lucky to live only 5 minutes from a beautiful beach. We visit all year round. I just love the waves crashing

Couldn’t agree more it’s a great time to take advantage of less crowds at the beach. A little wet weather gear on hand often extends our days out.

Sounds really good and the kids seem to have fun at the beach even if it is on the chilly side.

Sounds perfect! The beach is such a wonderful and natural antidepressant! Listening to the ocean, wind through your hair, sand between your toes. Perfect!

I agree! So blissful to walk along the waters edge in comparative peace! So relaxing! Plus, the sea displays some stunning colours during Autumn providing some great photo opportunities!

  I agree as I love the beach when it is quiet and fairly empty. Walks and reflection time.

I love the beach and the ocean during the cooler months too! Fish and chips is definitely delicious on cold days! 🙂
