We recently shared the exciting news that Amy Schumer was pregnant! The poor thing has shared she’s suffering from a severe form of morning sickness, hyperemesis gravidarum.

She was forced to cancel several shows in Texas due to her condition.

“I have hyperemesis and it blows. Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullsh*t,” Amy said on Instagram.

Amy shared that her HG symptoms worsened in her second trimester.

“I’m fine. Baby’s fine, but everyone who says the second trimester is better is not telling the full story,” she said.

“I’ve been even more ill this trimester.”

Poor Amy. We hope she doesn’t suffer too long.

  • A big part of the reason I only had one baby was all the spews during pregnancy. It certainly does blow.

  • I know a Mum who had to go to hospital every 2nd or 3rd day she was vomitting non-stop and dehydrating so much during her whole pregnancy.

  • I had HG and it was horrific. Everyone expected me to be glowing and happy all of the time because I was pregnant. I was also told to be grateful that I was pregnant because not everyone is that lucky (thanks, after 3 years and 3 miscarriages I worked that one out myself), but I was just so ill all of the time. I could barely work and I was exhausted all of the time, even during what was meant to be the nice part of being pregnant.

  • My first 2 pregnancies were living hell. I used to pray for death daily. With my second my body was so used to throwing up that I couldn’t stop it after he was born. He was three months old the last time I threw up. Feeling for her and everyone going through it.

  • Most mother’s I’ve spoken to enjoy the second trimester the most, myself included. For me, it’s the break in morning sickness and the lull before bubs is so big that I can’t eat big meals or they’ll come back up in an hour’s time. You’re also starting to show, feel kicks harder but not big enough for swelling or feeling cumbersome. I’m sure if I had this condition whilst pregnant I’d be bemoaning the second trimester too, but saying that they’re not telling the full story is false.

  • I only had it first thing in the morning before I had eaten and that was bad enough! I really feel for people who suffer badly.

  • That would be because you did not see Kate at all when she was suffering, also she had people running after her right, left and center.

  • A friend suffered this and was forced to attend hospital twice a week for fluids. Pregnancy can be quite debilitating.

    • It is truly hideous and to be hospitalised is tough on everyone in the family.
