Looking for a baby name?  Western Australia has a long list of suggestions for you!

The WA Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages has released it’s list of the most popular baby names chosen by WA parents last year.

‘Oliver’ maintained the number one ranking, making it’s mark as the number one boys name for 2014 and 2015 in WA.  It’s counterpart, ‘Olivia’ made a strong resurgence, climbing from the from the fourth spot it held in 2014, to top the list in 2015.  In total, 248 boys were named Oliver in 2015 while there were 206 girls christened Olivia.

The top five names in WA for boys were ‘Oliver’, ‘Jack’, ‘James’, ‘Noah’ and ‘William’ while for girls it was ‘Olivia’, ‘Ava’, ‘Charlotte’, ‘Mia’ and ‘Isla’.

Entering the top 10 list for 2015, the names ‘Mason’, ‘Lachlan’ and ‘Ruby’ claimed the spots previously held by the names ‘Lucas’, ‘Jacob’, ‘Emily’ and ‘Ella’.

  • Wow, I’m amazed at how many names are on this list that kids of my friends have. And to think so many people go for the ‘original’ name……if only they knew it’s most likely been used by many

  • We are still debating names for our little one due in 5 weeks… We just can’t agree! Hubby and I like lots of names on these lists, just not the same ones.
