Vertical gardens make spaces look greener and brighter and they can even be achieved indoors, they are also great for hiding ugly walls or fences.

Here are 10 ideas to inspire you to make your own vertical garden at your house:

  1. Pallet garden – reuse an old pallet for a garden, they look great.
  2. Succulent garden – I love these, they are on my wishlist to make.
  3. Veggie planter – boxes with a netting create a beautiful garden.
  4. Gutter planter - use guttering to make hanging planters.
  5. Concrete planter – concrete bricks make great planters.
  6. Hanging pots – hanging pots are perfcet for your herbs or flowers.
  7. Box garden – make your own planter boxes.
  8. Wall garden – create a feature wall with a wooden wall.

  • I love many of these. They’re so clever and great to look at. I’d love one to hang on the fence outside my office window, but I tend to not think about watering plants and kill off everything. I live in hope, though.

  • I love the aesthetics of the box garden. I haven’t seen one like that before but I think it would be perfect on our deck!

  • These plants look great – but I’m sure they haven’t long been planted. A lot of these vertical planters are so close together that the sunlight would have a great deal of difficulty getting to the plants and keeping them in this great shape.
