  • With regular visits to Adelaide for medical reasons we are always looking for new things to do. Sounds like we need to fit in Greenhills mm our next trip so we don’t miss out.

  • I would like to inform people that Greenhills Adventure Park definitely closes at the end of April, so if you are planning to take your children there don’t delay for too long..
Another place you can take your children is the SA Museum. Outside under the shade of a Palm tree is a Blower – equipment on a very old truck that is used at Opal Mines to blow the loose dirt off the stones that are mined. There is also a noodling area in which they have tiny pieces of opal which you may/may not find. A warning, the kids will get dirty doing that. There is an opal display inside but you do have to pay an entry fee for that. At times there are experienced people who can give talks and explain the aspects of mining, the history of Coober Pedy a town in the Outback of SA from which most the equipment – including the blower outside – came from. The blower is fenced off for safety and security reasons.

  • Just came back from Adelaide and spent one of the days at the zoo. The Panda’s Wang Wang and Funi (hope I got that right ) are really cute . They suspect Funi is pregnant and keeping a close eye on her. She was playing and chewing on bamboo from the time we entered the zoo in the morning till the time we left the zoo in the afternoon !

    • oh wow! that would be really cool to see! :) how special was that!

  • I visited Adelaide 5 years ago. There was the Christmas Pageant at that time and I found it so incredibly nice.
Of all the places I visited, I remember the Adelaide Gaol and the very interesting Ayers Historic House.
