Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re still looking for a thoughtful and perfect gift, here are 5 gifts you can make that won’t cost a lot either.

  1. Meal: Cook your valentine a special breakfast, lunch or dinner. Or even bake some special treats for them to take to work.
  2. Card: Make a special card for your Valentine.
  3. Vouchers: Make a voucher book filled with vouchers for IOUs to be redeemed, for massages, breakfast in bed, picnic lunch etc.
  4. Music: Make a mix CD or digital playlist of songs of your favourite songs.
  5. Photos: Create a photo book, photo board or frame some of your favourite photos together.

Are you making any Valentine’s Day gifts?

  • We don’t do Valentine’s Day. Never have and never will. Such a waste of money

  • I absolutely love all of these ideas. We’ve been married for 27 years now and our wedding anniversary is in March, so over the last few years we’ve agreed to let Valentine’s Day slide. A card is still a must, but we’ve decided a gift is not necessary. I do like the idea of something cheap and cute, but love these more personalised ideas. I think it’s worth keeping the romance real and alive and this can be done on Valentine’s Day easily with a lovely meal. My nephew was born on Valentine’s Day, so he takes priority too.

  • I prefer to get more creative on our anniversary and for valentines we tend to just buy something for each other

  • A handmade card from a nice picture together is nice ! A special breakfast for my husband and kids I like to make as well, in the end I so love my kids as well ! A love note in the lunch box is what I like to do too. I like to do these things not only on Valentines day.

  • Usually it’s just a nice meal and a small cutesy gift. Hubby’s birthday is a few days later so we don’t go nuts. Although last year I got an awesome day spa voucher from him which was awesome and unexpected! (Mind you I only managed time to use it yesterday…!!)

  • Nope. We’ve never done Valentines Day. Just another Americanism to exploit spending. Not interested

  • Generally I cook a special meal, and I give some chocolate both to my husband and our daughter. I will have to think about this year. It’s not too far anymore!!
