  • To vacuum the floor u put everything up on the sofa, or bed etc then vacuum. Ur floor will look great! Just throw a towel or sheet over the mess and hey presto! Ur room is clean!

  • Young children love to help mummy, so getting them to keep their room tidy and pick up their toys after play, if made into a game early on, will stand in stead for later years. Makes mum’s job keeping the house clean and tidy so much easier too.

  • haha, too funny. Yep, when you have kids your house is never tidy. As soon as you tidy and turn your back they have messed that area up again!

  • Very droll – and oh so true when you work and want your children to have a life as well.

  • Children need to learn at a very young age to put their toys away, or at least together in one very small space. I makes a huge difference if you don’t have to keep your eyes on the floor all the time to avoid the risk of any of you injurying yourself because of them. It also makes it a lot easier to clean their rooms until they are old enough to start doing some of it themselves. When they can reach the whole bed from the floor they should be taught to make their own beds. If they throw clothes or other things on the floor make them pick them up. When they are old enough If they don’t put dirty clothes where they are supposed to do, don’t wash them. They will soon learn when they don’t have their favourite clothes clean to wear.

  • Kids do thrive on responsibility and they need to be responsible for cleaning too – start small with little rewards charts and age appropriate chores.

  • We keep the house clean by having a cleaning roster for every day – it’s the only way we keep on top of it.
