a great halloween look and you can make it anything you want!

Material

  • 1 zip
  • liquid latex
  • face paint
  • fake blood
  • tissues ( separated into single layers)

Method

  1. start by measuring the zip for where you want to place it on the face, once you have done that, use the liquid latex to stick the zip to the face ( do a test patch first to make sure theres no reaction). i found it easiest to do small sections at time and holding it firmly to the skin to let the liquid latex set. repeat until the whole zip is done and do any touch ups that are needed.
  2. for the look we did we also wanted to make a cut on the face. to do that you will need tissues and liquid latex. start by drawing a line where you want your cut to be and then layer the liquid latex and tissue 7-10 times. once dry you can cut the liquid latex to make the 'cut'.
  3. now comes the face paint. cover the whole face inside the zip white, add some grey close to the zip to make it look like a shadow. add the red nose and lips. add some black inside the cut and then red and then add the fake blood.

  • Great – when I saw the pic I was afraid I’d have to draw the zip!

  • Love this! Wish I saw before Halloween – how long would this take approx?

    • I think this took about an hour and a half. Once you have the zipper on it’s a lot easier and a lot of that time is waiting for the glue and the latex to dry

    Reply

  • Wow just wish there was something beside latex to use to fix the zipper.

    • You can use something else. I think it’s called gum paste but you also need the proper remover if you use that.

  • Very cool.
