Breaking news this morning:  Toddler dies in incident involving a backyard pool.

A backyard pool incident has claimed the life of a three-year-old boy in Sydney’s south yesterday evening.

At 5.30pm, emergency services responded to reports of a three-year-old boy needing assistance in a home located in Riverwood.

The toddler was found unconscious by Paramedics who worked frantically to save his life before he was transported to Sydney Children’s hospital in a critical condition.

The boy unfortunately died a short time later.

Police investigations are continuing into the incident, with Police indicating to ABC news that the boy had been swimming in the pool before he got out the water and collapsed.
