Hello!

Trying to check if your baby has their very first toothy pegs isn’t easy, but a new mum has shared a clever trick instantly shows you if baby is teething. And all you need is a glass.

Stephanie Arneill says her mum taught her this super easy way to tell if baby is teething, so she wanted to pass it on to other mums. She shared a video on TikTok, demonstrating the hack, and it’s since been viewed more than two and a half million times.

All you need to do is gently press the edge of a glass against your little one’s gums. And like magic, if they are teething, you’ll see their little pearly whites through the glass. It’s actually brilliant! Take a look at this tip in action:

While some mums were sceptical, Stephanie assured that you only need to press really gently, and you’ll be able to tell that it’s teeth.

  • What a great hack! I will be trying this as soon as Bub is awake! My little one is only 3 months old, but has been chewing on anything and everything for a few weeks. I though it was was just her discovering new things, but I thought I felt sharpness the other day. Will see what we can see!
    Thanks (first time mum)

  • Hilarious face the baby pulls in the glass. My bub wouldn’t let me do this, he has to hold things first and that’s a no no. I knew quickly it was teething him, he was very vocal about it

  • Wow I wish to know that earlier…need to share that with my friends

  • I really like this idea, wish I knew about it earlier. You can actually see the teeth under the gums more clearly. I could never get the “put your finger in their mouths and feel the gums.”

  • It’s a great idea and also hygienically better than trying to put your fingers in their mouth

  • I saw this earlier today on Facebook and was wondering how it would work.
I normally just tickle my child and then I can see in mouth ????
