A bruised, disoriented boy with post-traumatic amnesia was reported missing after walking past nurses and out of a Melbourne children’s hospital.

Car crash victim Luke O’Brien had been in the Royal Children’s Hospital since June 2 but the 14-year-old walked out of the hospital just after 7am on Friday,

“Imagine my fright when I woke up and he wasn’t here,” his father Jerry told 3AW.

He is wearing red tracksuit pants, a black top, and is about 4ft 10.

If you have seen him, please call police.

UPDATED comments claim the boy has been found, we are yet to see an official statement though.

  • Doesn’t surprise me. Most hospital staff won’t lift a finger to do anything.

  • Can imagine this has caused deep concerns by family, friends, community and hospital staff !
A wake up call for the hospital to keep extra watch on patients who’re desoriented, suffer amnesia or psychotic symptoms !!

  • What were the nurses doing that nobody saw him leave?
