We are a complete sucker for a good Kmart hack and this one is a goodie. You’ll never have to prop your water bottle or wine glass on the floor again.
This drink bottle or glass holder can come with you wherever you go, to avoid spillages and keep your liquid refreshment intact.
Kmart fans have invented a brilliant way to create a portable drink bottle holder using a very unlikely kitchen product.
The idea was shared on the Kmart Mums Australia Facebook group and followers have gone on to create bold new uses for this creative concept.
It all started when a clever mum had the brainwave to take the Kmart Round Mini Fry Basket available in the kitchen section for $2 and bend the handle so it fits over the side of a chair, bed frame or trolley.
Chip Fryer Into Cup Holder
One of the mums wrote ‘Thank you to the genius that made these chip baskets into cup holders for their shopping trolley.
‘I needed somewhere to put my daughters drink bottle since we just got a new loft bed and no longer had the bedside table!!’
She explains that all she did was bend the basket handle to fit over the bed, then wrapped some tape over the handle so it wouldn’t scratch the furniture.
My girls have just moved into a bunk bed so I will definitely be using this idea to so that their water bottles are in easy reach.
Plant Hanging Basket
The round fryer is so versatile that it can be used for other uses too.
Another creative Kmart shopper converted the mini fry basket into functional art.
She straightened the handle, used two plastic cups for draining and catching water, and added succulent plants.
She also added a layer of coloured paper into the bottom of the basket, ‘to make it interesting.’
