Birth data from England and Wales has been collated to find out the most popular birth dates in the last two decades.

The data revealed that a peak in births occurred from late September to early October indicating that more babies are conceived in the lead up to and around Christmas.

September 26 was the most popular day to be born over the last two decades, which is 39 weeks and two days after Christmas day.

  • My boys were born middle of July and middle of March. To me these are the best dates because it’s when they were born

  • Haha, I’m not surprised. There seems to be a theme there. I also hear that 9 months post-football Grand Finals etc, there seems to be a surge, too! My son was born in April and it was all determined from IVF and embryo transfers. I was just ecstatic to finally be pregnant.
