What you’ll need:

  • Outdoor bricks
  • Outdoor pavers (optional for parking)
  • White outdoor paint

Method:

  1. Mark out the site for your road and dig out the dirt.
  2. Place your bricks in your road design.
  3. Paint on your road lines and parking spots and leave to dry.
  4. Bring out your cars and get playing.

  • If you have lots of pavers, you could make this road go all around the garden. My grandson would go crazy

  • What a brilliant idea. Wish I’d thought of this with my boys. They’re too old for this now but this is an ingenious idea at practically no cost at all.

  • My daughter was not into cars, but I did make a pony field for her ponies when she was little.

  • You could make one using timber offcuts. As a young child we had one drawn on a piece of burnieboard (you could use particle board) that we played with on a floor indoors with a toy garage and petrol bowser, but we didn’t one outside with pebbles or plants. Some Motorsport venues used to have petrol bowsers when some categories were restricted to particular brand and grade of petrol. I know they had one at A.I.R. in SA.
