Fridges get dirty and you need to clean them. Don’t get out your chemical filled sprays, make your own natural spray and get your fridge not only clean but smelling great too.

DIY fridge cleaner

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 2 cups of hot water
  • 10 drops of essential oil – lemon is recommended

Method:

  1. Add the ingredients to a spray bottle and mix.
  2. Spray fridge and leave for two minutes before wiping clean.

I have made this cleaner and it smells divine, it even makes cleaning the fridge enjoyable!

Try it out and let me know how you go. Please add comment below.

  • What a brilliant hack for cleaning the fridge. I’d probably use a different essential oil if it was available. I’d love to use strawberry or apple if it was available

  • I love this idea, I think I would use some orange essential oil instead though.

  • This is so simple. And I love the suggestion to use lemon juice. We have a lime tree that’s yet to show any fruit, but have many friends always trying to palm off lemons. Will definitely be trying this.

  • I do love this idea. I currently use a Vanilla Fridge Wipe spray and I must admit, the smell stays with me for a long time. I know it’s vanilla and I usually love it, but every time I open the fridge (for a while after I’ve cleaned it) it just hits me.

  • We clean a lot with vinegar, love it as it’s natural and pure :) I also use quite a bit of Eucalyptus oil and baking soda of course (even to wash my hair).
