Is your linen cupboard filled with messy fitted sheets like mine?

Learn how to fold a fitted sheet perfectly and make some space in your linen cupboard today.

Look at the difference!

Step 1: Hold two corners of your sheet

Step 2: Fold one corner into the other

Step 3 and 4: Fold 3rd and 4th corners, one at a time, up to the join

Step 5: Lay sheet down on table

Step 6: Fold sheet width ways into thirds (quarters if it’s a queen or king sized sheet)

Step 7: Fold length ways into thirds (or quarters)

You’re done!

I tried this and after a couple of goes, I found this very easy and quick once you get the hang of it your linen cupboard will never look so tidy.

Try it and let me know how you go in the comments below.

  • I’ve been doing this for years- best thing I’ve ever learnt for my linen cupboard!

  • Yep I mastered the technique long ago. You can also keep everything together by sliding the sheets inside the pillow case.

  • This is how I always fold my fitted sheets and then I put the flat sheet and one pillow case in a stack and it all gets put into the second pillow case. All I have to do then is grab out one stack and everything is ready for the bed change. I started doing this when I was a cleaner at our local hospital as well and the nurses loved the idea. The cupboards always looked so tidy as well

  • Thank you for the great video. I could not believe how easy it was to fold the fitted sheet. I am going to do that from now on as I need more cupboard space.

  • Yes that’s the way my mum taught me and the way I do it for many years ! I promise it’s easy and quick and looks neater than any other way of folding.

  • FItted sheets are an eternal problem! I just accept that they will look messy and that’s OK.

  • I’ve been doing this a long time, and I must admit it still takes me ages to do it.

  • The way I do it definitely is messier but I store it away so you can’t see it.

  • Oh my gosh, fitted sheets have always been such a nightmare for me to fold.
Thank you so much for sharing this step by step. I’m going to try it next time we wash our sheets. Hopefully I get it right and it looks just as neat as hers!

  • OMG I have needed these steps years ago. I just roll mine up. They look incredibly untidy & take up heaps of space. Thanks
