Kmart has jumped on the skyrocketing skincare market, releasing a range of bargain products that look like dupes of pricey brands including Sol De Janeiro and Glow Recipe.

Kmart is no stranger to creating lookalike dupes of more expensive products, including candles, and this latest drop of skincare has already caused a stir.

It didn’t take long for Kmart fans to spot the latest dupes online, with the new range starting at just $3, a far cry from the prices of Sol De Janeiro And Glow Recipe, which are stocked in Mecca. Here’s a look at some of the range:

Kmart is selling dupes of the very popular Sol de Janeiro perfume mists, for a fraction of the price. These are hugely popular with the tween and teen crowd.

The iconic Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has also been given the Kmart dupe treatment.

Glow Recipe’s face mist is also featured, but as to whether the products are a dupe in more than just packaging has yet to be seen.

With tweens and teens jumping on the skincare bandwagon and sharing their routines on TikTok, dermatologists have warned against the use of certain active ingredients, like retinol, on young skin.

Even Go-To Skincare founder Zoë Foster Blake has weighed in on the controversy, saying some products can be harmful to young skin.

  • I picked up the bum bum cream dupe to smell the other day and wasn’t a fan. I’m a bit fussy on moisturizer. Love Zoe. Addicted to her skincare line

  • How would the quality match up though for that price, I just don’t know.
Not sure I would want to expose my kids or my skin to something that isn’t really quality tbh, especially when it comes to skin care.

  • Aldi had a cream that was meant to be a cheaper version of the more expensive brand and the body butter was amazing. I wonder what the kmart one id like?

    Reply

  • Whilst I think it is great they are bringing out cheaper products, likely good starter products for teens. I do feel for the other company who ideas are “ripped off” by Kmart dupes.

  • Personally I have to be careful with any store bought facial products. I used to be able to use everything, till I started to get allergic reactions on store bought products. Now I make my own

  • No not for me. Used to buy kmart stuff when I was a lot younger.
P.s what is bum bum cream?

    • Google says it’s a Brazilian Beauty Blend of Cupuaçu Butter, Açaí Oil, and Coconut Oil together with Guaraná significantly smooths and tightens skin’s texture.
