Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Reportedly Plan to Raise Baby With “Fluid Approach to Gender”

It hasn’t yet been officially confirmed whether the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby boy or a baby girl, but if Meghan Markle has her way, her newborn’s gender won’t matter at all.

According to Vanity Fair, the mom-to-be and Prince Harry are reportedly planning to raise their child free of traditional gender norms.

“Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby,” a source told Vanity Fair.

“Her exact word is ‘fluid.’ She said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender and they won’t be imposing any stereotypes.”

Exactly what she means by the word “fluid” is unclear as the label itself has many interpretations, but it’s also been reported that the Sussexes have planned a gender-neutral nursery in which they’ve opted for white and grey tones over conventional pink and blue accents.

  • Who really cares. Their baby they get to choose.

  • I’m not 100% sure what fluid gender means. If it’s just that they will let a boy play with dolls and a girl play with trucks then ok. But if it means they are not going to refer to them , or acknowledge them as either a boy or a girl … I’m out

  • It would be nice to see, and would then encourage a lot of other parents to bring their children up the same way. It could create a really positive and open movement.

  • Good luck doing what you want to do in the royal family!

  • i Think we read too much into everything hat is posted about the royals. Let them do as thy please. It’s not like we can change anything about what they do or say or what they mean by it

  • Time will tell how they’ll truly raise their child and we might never know those details and that is totally fine !

  • Interesting times ahead.

  • If they mean they won’t mind him playing with ‘girls’toys or her playing with ‘boys toys’ etc then I agree. My son has tea sets and prams and also trucks and cars, he chooses what he plays with. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens when they have the baby because noone really knows how much of this is actually true

  • Why are we spelling mum as mom?

  • Gender neutral colours etc are fine – but I hope that if it’s a boy they wont make him wear dresses

  • Once upon a time parents didnt have the option to find out the gender of their babies so they bought clothing in neutral colours and decorated the nursery the same way. Girls played sports and with cars and marbles and boy played dolls etc. that was really just the way of things. Now we are attaching a label to it calling it gender fluid? Guess anyone born prior to the mid 80s was raised that way!

  • What nonsense. I can’t imagine this would be true.

  • Another celebrity that’s inactivley making a scene on how children should be raised. There is nothing wrong with making a girl wear a dress and boy to play with trucks. Children these days don’t understand why they are a girl or a boy because there is so much political correctness and celebs make it so much worse.

  • When people say “gender fluid” it makes me think they won’t use the proper pronouns and won’t allow their daughter to wear “girls clothes” or allow their son to play with “boys toys” etc.

  • I have heard this headline is just another flight of fancy of the media. Another untruth printed as if it was fact. And who cares if they do raise a gender neutral child? I have a son and a daughter, they both grew up playing with each other’s toys, didn’t hurt them!

  • Really its their child and their choices. They aren’t doing anything wrong and people just need to take a step back and Let them enjoy being first time parents

  • Oh Meghan you really think you are the Queen don’t you?! ????????????

  • This would be particularly hard for them.

  • I wonder who the source. Some media will report anything, some without verifying whether the information is correct or not. Somebody may find themselves in a lo of strife for printing what the source alledgedly “quoted”
