A man has been charged after a pregnant woman has been allegedly assaulted twice and hit with her own car south of Brisbane.
Walking to her car at a health facility in Loganlea on Friday morning, the 23-year-old woman was approached by a man.
Police allege the man stole her phone, punched her in the head and then stole her car.
“The woman managed to walk to a nearby bus stop where it will be alleged the man returned and drove the vehicle up onto the footpath and into the bus shelter, hitting the woman,” police said in a statement. “It will further be alleged the man then kicked the woman to the head and stomach before fleeing in the woman’s vehicle.”
The woman was treated in Logan Hospital for various injuries she sustained from the incident.
A 24-year-old man was later arrested at a home in Kingston, and was charged with assault, theft and dangerous driving. He is expected to face Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
