Pregnant woman sexually assaulted as she slept

A pregnant woman has reportedly been sexually assaulted as she slept in her Brisbane home.

It’s understood a man broke into the Tingalpa residence around 1.40am on Friday, crept into the bedroom and assaulted her.

Her husband is understood to have been in the bed beside her when the attack occurred.

The woman woke up and screamed, which also woke up her husband, who then chased the man around several rooms before corning him and restraining him.

Police arrived a short time later and arrested the 19-year-old man.

He was charged with two counts of enter premises with intent at night, and one count each of sexual assault and stealing.

He is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court this morning.

The 25-year-old victim was taken to hospital for minor injuries and a check-up.

Far out, what kind of world are we living in? Surely he was on something to do something like this – definitely not acceptable at all but really? With her partner in the bed beside her? Hope she’s OK and the baby, how scary for them all.

The criminal is on 2 charges of enter. That is interesting. Obviously he broke through 2 doors / windows or a combination of both. I wonder if the couple actually knew him. It’s pretty brazen of the guy when the husband is there too.
I hope the guy didn’t infect her with any nasty germs that could damage the Mum’s health + the baby’s any more than he already has. I owuld never feel safe in that house again.
They should lock him up and throw away the key, especially if it was premeditated. I will be surprised if it wasn’t. I wonder what he attempted to steal.

19 years old is such a young age to be committing such offences. I feel sad reading this – sad for the youth, and sad for the victims.
