Recall issued for wooden toys due to choking hazard concerns.

Ampar Holdings recalls Upside Down Cubby Stacker Toy & Upside Down Naturals Stick Stacker Toy, due to the fact that small parts may detach.

What are the defects?
The affected toys may not comply with the mandatory safety standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age (Consumer Protection Notice No. 14 of 2003, as amended by Consumer Protection No. 1 of 2005).

Small parts may detach from the products.

What are the hazards?
If small parts detach from the product, they pose a potential choking hazard to young children.
Stop using the products and contact Ampar International on 02 9634 4833 or email info@amparglobal.com to arrange a return of the product and a full refund.

  • I would have thought that these pieces would be too large to be swallowed. It is hard to judge sizes from a photograph though.

  • The ears on the one on the left may be a real concern. If the upright is securely inserted into the base and glued in properly it should not come out.
    The toy on the right is of far more concern to me. The pieces which fit on sideways onto the pole could well be choking risks. I have a plastic set. The pole is sealed into the base and even the smallest ring is too large to go into a toddler’s mouth far enough to cause choking.
