We had a lot of apples to use up in the week leading up to Christmas. So I made this delicious sweet dish from puff pastry and apples.

Ingredients (serves 8 | makes 24 Apple pastrys)

  • Puff Pastry 3 sheets
  • Butter 2 tablespoons
  • Cinnamon 2 teaspoons
  • Brown sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Apples 8

Method

  1. I honestly just made it up as i go! Start by peeling your apples and chopping your apples up into little cubes. It doesn't need to be a certain size. Maybe half a cm.
  2. In a bowl mix together 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and a few shakes of cinnamon powder.
  3. Lay out the sheets of pastry, brush on some melted butter, spread some apple out and sprinkle some of the brown sugar / cinnamon mix.
  4. Now it's time to roll the pastries up and cut into about 8 pieces. Keep going until you have used up your ingredients. Make as many or as little as you like.
  5. Bake in oven until golden and crisp.

  • Interesting recipe, will definitely try it.

  • I make often similar apple pastries but instead of sugar I add some raisins

    • Raisins instead of sugar is a great idea. Healthier.
