This is a great recipe and it's easy for the kids to help out on


Ingredients (serves 12 | makes 12 Squares)

  • 185g butter
  • 2 1/2 cups self raising flour
  • 3/4 cups caster sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 1/2 cups Icing sugar
  • 40grams Butter
  • 50 grams Chocolate
  • 1 tsp Vanilla

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Melt 185g of butter and put aside to cool
  3. sift self raising flour into bowl with caster sugar
  4. Combine cooled butter and egg together then mix in with flour until a smooth dough forms, press into slice tray and bake until golden brown.
  5. Mix icing sugar, vanilla and remaining butter until smooth then spread over slice once it's been cooled and refrigerate. Melt chocolate and pour over slice refrigerate until chocolate is hard. Cut into squares and serve

Notes

This is a great recipe that you can add your own flare on add some passion fruit to icing mix for a sweet taste or caramel. And it's great together the kids to help out on for an afternoon activity.
