Versatile mushroom sauce. Great on pasta, steak and toast


  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 500 gm sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tbls plain flour
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • pinch salt and pepper


  1. Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Saute mushrooms until tender.
  2. Stir in flour, milk and soy sauce. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
