These tastes spectacular and havve the texture of a golden pillow. These have to be one of the best ptoatoes ive ever eaten.

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 5 large potatoes (peeled)
  • 1 kg pork fat
  • 2 tsp smoked himalayan salt

  1. Once you have peeld the potatoes slice them into four pieces each and add them to the pork lard in a pot on medium heat until soft and golden. Then plateand sprinkle with smoked salt and serve.

  • Mmmm they sound and look fluffy and delicious!

  • Your golden pillows look amazing,great with a roast,thanks!

  • I’ve cooked spuds in duck fat and theyre divine, I should think pork fat wouldn’t be very similar

  • Lovely for everyone to enjoy, look delicious.

  • Crips and delicious looking roast potatoes – thank you – not used pork fat for roasting – my gran did and her potatoes were the best!

  • I have done this with duck fat and it was awesome – I would be willing to try pork lard too! – thanks for sharing

    • Duck fat sounds interesting too – do the potatoes get quite crispy?

  • My Nan always used to use lard and I guess we’ve steered away from it over the years … will definitely try over Christmas to see if they taste as good as I remember they did as a child!

  • Oh yes, also Nigella Lawson used pork fat to roast potatoes. I’ve never tried, but I’m curious now!
