Quick and easy mud cake hack.

Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 1 Woolworths Mud Cake
  • 125g Softened Butter
  • 1.5 cups Icing Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Milk
  • 3-4 drops Food Colouring
  • 3 Marshmallows
  • 1 Liquorice

Method

  1. Cut the mud cake in half. Sitting one half up on cut edge and other half in front of it, carving the edges to give it a less rounded appearance.
  2. Mix the icing by putting the icing sugar in a bowl, add in the softened butter and a small amount of the milk, mix together adding milk as you go. Separate into 2 bowls.
  3. Place desired colour of food colouring into each of the bowls - we used blue for water and grey for hippo. Ice the cake as displayed.
  4. Use some grey icing around the outside of 2 marshmallows placing them on as ears. Cut the remaining marshmallow in half and place on as eyes. Cut the liquorice into 4 pieces and use icing to secure on eyes and in place of nose.
